Comfort Bird Instructions
1. Get a feel.
Turn your buddy in your hand,
taking the time to notice the color,
grain, contour, and peculiar
bumps. That’s comforting!
2. Choose a name.
Select a name that reflects where
you are right now or possibly what
you need. “Quiet Time,” “Safe
Space,” “Spark of Hope,” or “Bold
Step” are some thoughts that come
to mind. Where do you need to
experience comfort right now?
3. Find a space.
Place your bird in a location where
it can serve as a small memorial, a
remembrance of who you are and
the promises of God over your life.
You will never be judged by your
bird friend, simply reminded of
your great value and worth.
4. Pause and be grateful.
Your Comfort Bird didn’t come to
you by accident. Someone thought
of you, and cared for you, and
wanted to comfort you by sending
this little friend your way. You are
loved and your life makes a
difference to others.

“Praise be to the God and Father
of our Lord Jesus Christ, the
Father of compassion and the God
of all comfort, who comforts us in
all our troubles, so that we can
comfort those in any trouble with
the comfort we ourselves receive
from God.” - 2 Corinthians 1:3–4
